LA surfing could use a new publicist. A few minutes with the evening news confirms it all: The water's always dirty, nobody's stoked, localism is rule not exception, and if you snake me again, I'll make a home on the curb for your face.
Of course, like all stereotypes, these images and tabloid testimonials are oversimplified - incomplete at best, unfair and blatantly untrue at worst. So when guys like Pascal Stansfield and Patrick Jensen unite an eclectic SoCal community to get wet, compete, hang out, and grill some grub on a fun, sunny weekend at Zuma Beach, we try to take notice. These pictures should help dispel some of the cloudy and oft exaggerated negativism like a strong Santa Ana wind. Have a look.
