Rip Curl GromSearch Fueled by H2O Overdrive Migrates East for Stop #3 at Outer Banks
August 4, 2009
PRESS RELEASE

The 3rd stop of the 2009 Rip Curl GromSearch fueled by H20 Overdrive has a loaded tank and is geared straight toward the Right Coast. With $1000 in prize money and loads of prizes from Smith Optics, Bubble Gum Wax, H2O Overdrive, Surf One Skates, and of course, Rip Curl, up for the taking, the OBX's finest should have no problem motivating themselves to bring their A-Game. Top spots will receive the coveted invite to the GromSearch National finals at Salt Creek, California, and with so much on the line it is guaranteed to get hot and heavy in the Mid-Atlantic.

Surfline.com's official forecast predicts surf in the 2- to 3- foot range out of the southeast providing rippable peaks. With the likes of Nick Rupp, Dylan Kowalski, Nic Hernandez and Quincy Davis fired up to do battle for GromSearch glory, big moves and high action is a guarantee.

The event site is set for Byrd St. in Kitty Hawk with a back-up location at Bonnett St., Nags Head and is likely to run on Saturday, August 8th with a start time of 8 am. Check back to www.ripcurl.com later in the week for a confirmed location.

Following the event, Outer Banks Boarding Company will be hosting the Award Ceremony, After-Party, and Benefit. The public can participate in a raffle and silent auction, featuring Rip Curl memorabilia and product, as well as a Shell Surfboard and much more, to benefit the Rayner Family, in addition to food for all attendees, live music by Rip Curl Team Rider Jason Andre and an all around great time.
