O'Neill Presents Fourth Annual Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Surf Event in Maui, Hawaii

O'Neill and Team Rider Ian Walsh announced the official date for the highly anticipated Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Surf Event to be held Saturday February 3, 2007 at Ho'okipa Beach Park, in Maui, Hawaii.
In it's fourth consecutive year, Walsh, an advocate for introducing and promoting surfing to the youths of Hawaii, is pleased to produce a free surf competition for boys and girls under the age of 17 at his home surf break with the support of his apparel sponsor O'Neill.
Surfers will be eligible to compete in the following categories, boys and girls ages 11 and under, boys and girls ages 12 to 13, boys ages 14 to 15, girls' age 15 to 17 and boys' ages 16 to 17. Four person finals will determine the podium spots. All surfers are eligible to win awards in the one of three special award categories; Highest GPA for a Boy and Girl, The Eric Diaz Memorial Award and The Steve Cooney Memorial Award.
"This event is for the kids and the community, it is about going out there and doing your best, and having as much fun as you can with your friends," explained Walsh. "I want to encourage everyone to come out and support these kids, it is a great event and we are stoked to have the support of companies such as O'Neill, Red Bull, DaKine, Boost Mobile, to name a few, who hooked us up with schwag bags for all of the competitors and great food from Flatbread Company Pizza."
Registration forms can be obtained at Hi-Tech Surf Shops and must be mailed by January 29 to Ian Walsh/Menehune Mayhem 720 #5 Hana Highway, Paia, Hawaii 96779.
The Ian Walsh Menehune Mayhem Surf Event Presented by O'Neill is organized by Walsh, his mother Kitty, and brothers Luke, Shaun and D.K.. Supporters include Reef, DC, Fox, Globe, Sexwax, Vetra Sunscreen, Gravis, Billabong, Hurley, Volcom, Electric Eyewear, Adio, Poor Specimen Videos, Transworld Surf Magazine, Surfer Magazine, Surfing Magazine, Hi Tech Surf Shops and Kazuma Surfboards.
