Billabong's Tamaroa McComb and Paige Hareb Claim Victory at Billabong Pro Junior Series Event in NSW
September 7, 2008
PRESS RELEASE

The win for Tamaroa, 16, was his second career Pro Junior title and the silverware is going to look really good next to his 16/U world title trophy, which is above his Quiksilver Pro Trials trophy, which is right behind his Hurley Burleigh Pro Junior trophy. He is still the youngest male surfer to win a Pro Junior in Australia. Dylan Longbottom will be building a bigger mantelpiece for the young Tahitian to store his contest spoils, (Tamaroa lives with Dylan and his family on the Gold Coast). Not only that, the kid now sits 5th on the ASP Australasian Junior Ratings and is in a damn fine position to qualify for the World Junior Champ's at North Narrabeen with two events remaining.

Kiwi Paige Hareb is also on track for another shot at the world junior title. (She finished second last year) The Port Stephens Pro Junior win has put her into third position on the ratings and only 430 points behind Laura Enever in second spot. She needs to make the top two at the years end to qualify. Paige is having a good year with the big guns as well, currently sitting 5th on the WQS tour and on target to qualify in '09. Billabong could have four girls on the world tour next year if things keep going the way they are.
