Brazilian Alandreson Martins Got the First Perfect 10 Ride Score at Maresia Surf International

After the strong rain in the first day, a beautiful sunny day cames in Itajai, the waves drop a little bit, but the barrels still running. Brazilian Alandreson Martins was the sensational of the day when he got one nice tube and finish the wave with a big aerial to get the first perfect 10 point ride score of the Maresia Surf International. Expected Brazilian WCT surfer Adriano de Souza won the first heat of the second round in Brava Beach . The 6 star event in Itajai distribute 125.000 dollars prize money and 2.500 points in WQS Ranking, with the best 15 surfers qualifying into WCT 2008. Four brazilians steal in this group.
Sharing the best position in WCT ranking with Rodrigo Dornelles, 23th place, Brazilian Adriano de Souza is competing in Brazil for the first time in this year. â€oeIâ€(TM)m very happy to came back and competing in Brazil , I was in the road surfing the â€~CT, and now Iâ€(TM)m really focus in this eventâ€?. said Adriano. â€oeI have no pressure surfing here, I still wants to make my next year WCT classification through the â€~CT and I am in 45th place in â€~QS, so I can surf relax and maybe got a result here and in Ubatuba next weekâ€?, said Adriano.
With one World Pro Junior title, Adriano de Souza keep trying to get his second one and equal WCT Surfer, Australian Joel Parkinson who is the only one that has two titles. This year Adriano cames really close after losing the final to new WCT rookie, South African Jordy Smith. His great opponent is another World Pro Junior Champ, Brazilian Pablo Paulino, who steal in 46th place. â€oeI keep my dream alive, I really wants to win twice, and this year is my last opportunity, Pablo is in a better position and surfing very well, but I will still fightingâ€?, conclude Adriano.
One of his next opponents in Maresia Surf International will be Brazlian Eric de Souza, winner of the 4 star WQS event The Gatorade Surf Classic, held in September in São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina. He pass through his opening heat with Hawaian Ola Eleogram. �The heat was really good, I got two nice rights and make the heat. This beach is beautiful and looks like a beach inside a forest, the public is really nice and is always a pleasure competing in Brazil �, said Eleogram, who will take Brazllian Alandreson Martins in next round.
First time competing in a WQS Event, Brazilian Alandreson Martins won the third heat of second round of the Maresia Surf International sending home great ex-brazilians WCT surfers, Yuri Sodre and Guilherme Herdy. In second place was another young Brazilian Magno Pacheco. â€oeYesterday when I saw Herdy and Sodre in heat draw, I was a little bit nervous, but I put in my head that I have to surf my heat like a free surfing, and in the end it worksâ€?. said Martins.
Alandreson Martins was very excited after the first 10 perfect ride of the event: â€oeI was looking down the lefts but no one was surfing there, but a nice and great left came to me, I put to a big tube, make the wave and finish with a nice aerial reverse, this was my first 10 point ride like a professional surferâ€?, explains Martins. Alandreson is looking for a great sponsor to compete in WQS tour next year.
Brazlian surfers Jihad Kohdr, Heitor Alves and Neco Padaratz are competing in Maresia Surf International trying to confirm their WCT 2008 classification through the â€~QS, They steel in the 15 surfers group, but another surfers can entry this list, one of them is Brazilian Jean da Silva, who is the leader of South American Professional Ranking of ASP South America.
â€oeI had a tough heat, the waves change because the wind, but I could find some and took the second place, the important thing for me was passing throughâ€?, said Jean. The Maresia Surf International is very important for Jean to keep alive his classification to 2008 WCT, â€oeI surfed here a lot of times, I will give my best to get a result and entry into the classification zone, the level is high but I still focus in a great result hereâ€?, concludes Jean, who still in the 23th place in WQS ranking.
