Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Friday afternoon at 1:20pm.
SURF: 2-3 ft + thigh to chest high with occasional 4 ft. and fair conditions.
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Mostly clean surf prevails this afternoon as our WNW and SW swells slowly ease. Better breaks through the region are good for waist-chest-shoulder high surf, with plus sets for top exposures. Looking like a good afternoon to get in the water is you can.
This Morning's Dawn Patrol: Sectiony lines with some open face corners that can hold up better on the sets.
WEATHER:
Partly cloudy with light onshore flow.
NORTH SAN DIEGO'S REGIONAL OVERVIEW:
A cleaner but smaller swell mix out of the WNW with a touch of SW will be affected by a HIGH to LOW tide pattern through out the day. Waist to Shoulder high waves are pretty much the norm but occasional Head+ waves can show at the areas most exposed to this swell mix.
FORECAST SUMMARY: FRIDAY: Watch out for the big mid morning high tide, which will slow many breaks down (esp. the reefs). WNW swell will be backing down and mixes with holding SW swell for waist-chest high waves at many breaks. Top spots see shoulder high+ and still a few larger sets. Wind/Weather: Light/variable to light S early, light SW/W for the afternoon.
