Hey, this is Schaler with the report for Friday afternoon at 1:15pm.
SURF: 3-4 ft. + waist to shoulder high and fair conditions.
PM REGIONAL OVERVIEW: Decent sized, semi clean surf prevails this afternoon. Better breaks through the region are good for waist-chest-head high surf, with plus sets for top exposures. Conditions remain semi clean, with a few corners to be found across the region.
This Morning's Dawn Patrol: Sectiony lines with some pick and choose corners mixed with close outs too.
WEATHER:
Partly cloudy with WSW winds 2-5kts.
SOUTH SAN DIEGO'S REGIONAL OVERVIEW:
A drop off in the dominate WNW swell direction means smaller surf across the board. While Waist to Shoulder high waves are still fairly common, theyare less consistant for sure. Top open areas can still have some Head+ sets at times but you have to wait awhile. Continued HIGH to LOW tide swing will also affect the size and shape of the surf at all areas through out the day.
FORECAST SUMMARY: FRIDAY: Watch out for the big mid morning high tide, which will slow many breaks down (esp. the reefs). WNW swell will be backing down and mixes with holding SW swell for waist-shoulder high waves at many breaks. Top spots see head high sets early. Wind/Weather: Light/variable to light S early, light SW/W for the afternoon.
