Thumbs Down: With Damage Inc's travel expenses consisting of a few tanks of gas and one plane ticket to Hawaii, it certainly won't rock the global surf vid charts. And since they went that route, they even could have done without the aloha: the Hawaii segments were sore thumbs in a video with such a home-grown appeal.
Thumbs Up: Hey, at least the stars aren't from El Segundo. Ventura County offers a wide-enough variety of good surf and good surfers to make it mildly entertaining for every fan of high-performance surfing. Plus, Surfing Senior Editor Matt Walker's cameo is worth the price of admission in itself. --Evan Slater
