SURFLINE LAUNCHES NEW SURFOLOGY CHANNEL
September 22, 2003, Huntington Beach, CA -- Surfline.com, the world's most popular online destination for surfers, just added a brand new channel. Called Surfology, it's a comprehensive resource that covers just about everything you ever wanted to know about surfing but were afraid to ask.
Surfology includes Surf School, with a Learn-to-Surf feature and a listing of surf schools nationwide; the Bill of Rights and Lefts -- surfing's first comprehensive etiquette guide; Surfing A-Z, the surf world's thickest almanac; a surfing glossary, which defines hundreds of surfing terms; Who Knows, where various experts answer readers' questions; Forecasting and Meteorology, which gives readers a basic understanding of where waves come from; surfboard and wetsuit buyers' guides, where readers can research the gear that keeps them going, and the Surfline Forums, a hotbed of community activity.
"Surfing's popularity continues to grow," explains Surfline's president Sean Collins. "And we felt it was our responsibility to publish a comprehensive etiquette guide as well as all the other educational aspects of Surfology -- not only for beginners, but for everyone who wants to learn more about surfing. There's stuff in there I didn't even know, and I've been surfing for almost 40 years."
Surfology was painstakingly compiled and written by Surfline's editorial team -- Sean Collins, Nick Carroll and Marcus Sanders -- and will continue to expand and grow in the coming years.
