SURFLINE.COM DELIVERS 12,000,000+ PAGES IN ONE MONTH
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - October 23, 2002 - Surfline Inc. announced today that its world-renowned website, Surfline.com, reached a new milestone last month � delivering 12,741,016 page views during September. Despite the record-setting traffic, Surfline.com provided reliable, fast and consistent service to the 917,289 unique users who visited the site.
By serving more than 12 million pages in one month, Surfline confirmed its position as the world�s leading online destination for surf, beach and marine information. �This data points to the strength and quality of Surfline's content and to the powerful relationship we have developed with our visitors," said Sean Collins, President and Chief Forecaster for Surfline, Inc.
Not only was this the busiest month ever for Surfline.com, it also marks the first time that the site delivered over a half million pages in a single day. On September 9, Surfline users viewed 652,758 pages of original Surfline content.
The October statistics were based on a report issued by Akami, a leading provider of site analysis software. Additional highlights from the September report include: - Users spent an average of 4 minutes, 58 seconds during each visit;
- The average page views per unique visitor was 13.9.
Surfline�s traffic has grown on the strength of its unique, evergreen content, which was recognized and awarded a Webby last year by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. Surfline.com, along with its online retail partner Swell (and its online content partner Surfing Magazine), was named the Internet�s best sports website beating out such high-profile sites as ESPN.com and CBS.sportsline.com.
